Bible Prophecy Left Defenseless

What does Bible prophecy have in common with today’s popular ideas of prophecy? - Absolutely nothing. The majority of mainstream prophetic propaganda makes a mockery of what Bible prophecy is truly about. Most of what is dispensed in books like Left Behind, or preached from the pulpits of today’s Protestant churches, in no way reflects what renown Bible scholars of the past such as Isaac Newton, Martin Luther, and many more have found in the prophetic pages of Scripture.
What has happened to Bible prophecy and where has it gone? All I know is that today’s prophetic culture is so out of touch with Scripture it’s astounding. It almost seems as though no one is studying it for themselves or taking the initiative to challenge what is being publicized or preached.
What continues to be disturbing is that the majority of Bible believing Christians have allowed secular society, as well as religious teachers, to drag something as fascinating and sacred as Bible prophecy through the mud of politics, sensationalism, skepticism, ecumenism, and ridicule without taking a step forward in its defense.
We live in a time when the world needs all the divine enlightenment that Scripture has to offer. The prophetic Word lays out the strongest arguments for the Christian faith. Without its inspiration and direction the Christian faith would not have withstood the forces of evil that have come crashing down on it over the centuries. Without it today, the Christian faith will not stand fast against the powers of darkness that still seek to destroy it and wipe it from the conscience of the human race.
Faithful Christians need to first take the time to understand what Bible prophecy is all about then to take a stand in its defense. To lose this gem of our faith is to sacrifice all that makes our trust in Christ steadfast and sure.
